MANHATTAN, Kan. – The No. 21 Utah Volleyball team overcame a slow start on the road at Kansas State, taking down the Wildcats, 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-19). The Utes bounce back in their second match of a three-match road swing, after falling in a tough five-set battle at then #24 BYU.

The Utes struggled to get the offense going in the first set, finishing with just five kills and a .097 hitting percentage. Utah started to find some rhythm towards the end of the first set, stringing together six consecutive points and cutting into the Wildcat lead, before K-State took the set, 21-25.

Utah used the momentum from the end of the first and carried it to the second, coming out firing and taking a quick four-point advantage at 10-6. After the Wildcats put together a pair of runs to bring the score back to even at 11-11, Utah found a spark of its own, taking a 20-16 lead. The two sides continued to exchange points as

Ashley West, and
Emrie Satuala each provided big kills for the Utes to secure the second set win, 25-22.

Starting fresh in the third set with each team winning one apiece, K-State jumped out early, claiming a seven-point lead at 19-12. The Utes wouldn't go down without a fight putting together a pair of four-point runs to chip away at the Wildcat advantage. Utah took its first lead of the third set at 24-23, during a run in which
Kamryn Gibadlo put down two kills, along withÂ
Emrie Satuala and
Lauren Jardine locking down a block at the net. The Utes secured the third set win, getting back-to-back kills from Satuala and Gibadlo, 26-24.

Utah found some separation at the midway point, taking a 14-10 advantage in the fourth set. The Utes found a four-point run, getting kills from Gibadlo, Satuala and West, taking the lead out to 18-13. Utah kept the pressure on down the stretch, putting another three-point run together, getting kills from
Kamry Bailey and Jardine, along with an ace from
Isabelle Marco. Utah secured the victory with back-to-back errors from the Wildcats, 25-19.

STANDOUT STATS
- Emrie Satuala and Kamryn Gibadlo led the Utah attack with 12 kills apiece.
- Satuala posted a team-high .476 hitting percentage, putting down 12 kills on 21 attempts and just two errors.
- Gibadlo finished with a .379 hitting percentage, making just one error on 29 swings with 12 kills.
- Claranne Fechter led Utah's receiving effort with 15 digs.
- Isabelle Marco (28) and Grace Hammond (22) dished out 20+ assists each to help facilitate the Utah offense.
