Kelly Bullock and graduate
Taliana Kaufusi were named All-Big 12 Second Team and freshman
Bella Woods earned placement to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team, the conference announced Tuesday.
Junior forward
Kelly Bullock started 17 of the 18 games this season, playing all 90 minutes of nine matches and achieving two goals and four assists. The Salt Lake City native is currently top five on the roster in goals and points, bringing in eight for the season, and top three in assists. Bullock earned her first season goal with an assist from freshman
Katie Callaway, scoring the sole point of the match and shutting out the Houston Cougars on Oct. 17, 1-0. On Oct. 20, against Baylor, the forward scored a second game-winning goal, bumping the surplus to 2-0 and creating another shutout for the Utes. Bullock has tallied four helpers this season, two of them during the Sept. 1 Weber State match. With her hard work this season, Bullock earned a defensive position on the All-Big 12 Second Team.
Kaufusi currently sits atop the Utes' stats in points, totaling 22 for the season, and goals. The forward has earned ten goals this season, accomplishing this feat with two hattricks, one against Weber State on Sept. 1 and one facing off with Idaho State on Sept. 15. With her ten successes this season, Kaufusi marks 27 career goals and puts herself in the record book for 5
th most goals in a career. The Salt Lake City native sits in fifth in the conference for goals and has previously earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the week after completing her second hattrick of the season—making it clear why she was positioned as forward on the All-Big 12 Second Team. Kaufusi is one of four Utes who has started every game this season, making this her fourth season achieving this undertaking.
Woods started the season off with a bang, scoring the game-winning goal for Utah's season opener against Gonzaga. After capitalizing on a free kick, Woods booted the ball into the net in the 90
th minute, winning the game for the Utes 2-1, but also earning the first Big 12 Freshman of the Week award of the season. The Draper, Utah native was able to earn her second game-winning goal of the season against Kansas St. at their home pitch in the 85
th minute. The midfielder sits in the top five for goals, assists and points for the Utes and has played in every match this season, earning 13 starts. Along with her successes in the net, the redshirt-freshman has accomplished three helpers this season, one of which contributed to a 4-1 win over Arizona State on Oct. 4.
The last time Utah earned three conference All-Team recognitions was in 2013 when Jenny Hutton, Lindsey Luke and Katie Rogers were awarded Pac-12 honors.
