SALT LAKE CITY – The Madsen brothers will bookend their collegiate career playing with one another one more time with Utah head men's basketball coach

Madsen will join his twin brother Gabe as a member of the Runnin' Utes after spending the last two seasons at Boston College out of the ACC. Madsen also spent his first two years at Cincinnati – where the two started their collegiate careers together before Gabe opted out on Dec. 21, 2020.

His last two season at Boston College saw him play in 69 games with 27 starts, averaging 7.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

In 2023-24, Madsen averaged 10.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists in the final 14 games of the season – all of which he started in. That stretch saw the 6-4 guard post a pair of 20-plus point games – including a career-high 25 points against Miami where he knocked down a career-best 7 triples to go with 4 rebounds a pair of steals.

He closed out his final season on Chestnut Hill ranked second in 3-point field-goals made (60), third in 3-point field-goal percentage (.377), fourth in rebounding (3.5), fourth in assist (50) and fourth in steal (22).

Madsen's first season with the Eagles saw him play in all 33 games while making 12 starts – including the season-opener and 11 of the first 13 games he played in. He averaged 5.8 points and 2.6 rebounds as a junior in 2022-23 while tallying 28 assists, 18 steals and 7 blocks.

His first two season at Cincinnati (2020-22) saw him have a reserve role, playing in 45 games while averaging 14.3 minutes. During his time with the Bearcats, Madsen averaged 4.8 point and 1.9 rebounds in 644 minutes. He made his first and only career start at UC his sophomore season against Monmouth scoring 7 points.
