SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Volleyball program announced its 2024 non-conference schedule today, which includes five home matches at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. With today's announcement, and the previously released conference schedule for the Utes' first year in the Big 12, Utah has 29 total matches scheduled, which begin on Saturday, Aug. 24. Big 12 Conference action gets underway on Sept. 26 at home against Texas Tech.

In the 35th year under the direction of the program's all-time winningest head coach,
Beth Launiere, Utah will face three NCAA Tournament teams from 2023 in non-conference action (Utah State, Purdue, and Coppin State), along with two programs that competed in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) (UTEP and Wyoming).

"I'm pleased with our preseason and Big 12 schedule and believe it will be both competitive and energizing," said head coach
Beth Launiere. "We couldn't be more excited to get started in the Big 12, and I believe our preseason matches will prepare us well. Going into a new conference is interesting. There will be a learning curve of different coaching and playing styles, cities, and venues, but we have been preparing and are ready to go."

The Utes will get warmed up with an exhibition against Utah Valley on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Huntsman Center, preceding a five-match homestand that begins with the Utah Classic on Friday and Saturday Aug. 30-31. Utah will welcome UTEP and Utah State. On Friday evening, Utah will take on Miners at 7 p.m., then Saturday at 5 p.m. is first serve against the Aggies from Utah State. Playing their third match in three days, Utah will host Wisconsin-Green Bay on Sunday, Sept. 1.

Utah will host a neutral site contest between the California Golden Bears and Purdue Boilermakers on Thursday, Sept. 5. Utah will then play their first of two matches of the weekend, taking on former Pac-12 foe Cal in the primetime slot on Thursday evening. Utah will round out its homestand with a match against Purdue on Friday, Sept. 6.

Utah will hit the road for their first of six consecutive road matches of the non-conference portion of the schedule with a trip to the Windy City for the Loyala Chicago tournament, taking on the Ramblers back-to-back days on Friday and Saturday Sept. 13-14. The Utes will close out their first road trip taking on Northeastern on Sunday, Sept. 15.

The Utes will make their final road trip of the non-conference portion of the schedule, traveling to Laramie for the University of Wyoming Tournament. Playing three matches in two days, Utah will get the action started on Friday, Sept. 20, with a pair of matches, first taking on the University of Albany. The team will return to the court for their second match of the day, battling Coppin State. Closing out the weekend, Utah will take on host Wyoming on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Utah will return home to the Huntsman Center for its inaugural Big 12 conference contests, hosting Texas Tech on Thursday, Sept. 26. The Utes will close out their first conference weekend of action against a familiar opponent, taking on Colorado on Sunday, Sept. 29.

After making a trip to the desert for a pair of matches against Arizona and Arizona State to start the month of October, Utah will return to its home floor to host TCU and Baylor. The Utes will get the weekend started on Thursday, Oct. 10, taking on TCU before returning to action against the Baylor Bears on Saturday, Oct. 12.

After a full week of rest, the team will hit the road for three consecutive matches. The Utes will stay in the state, traveling to Provo to take on in-state and now conference rival once again, BYU, on Saturday, Oct. 19.

After returning from their first Big 12 trip to Kansas, Utah returns to Salt Lake City for a pair of matches against Arizona and Arizona State. Bringing the month of October to a close, the Utes host the Wildcats for a Halloween night contest on Thursday, Oct. 31 before welcoming the Sun Devils for a Saturday matinee.

As November progresses, the schedule begins to shrink with six games left and three remaining on the home floor. The BYU Cougars will make the return trip to Salt Lake City from Provo, on Friday, Nov. 8, for the lone home match of the week. The team will hit the road for two of their final three matches, traveling to Houston and Central Florida.

With one final homestand on the schedule, the Utes return to the Huntsman hosting a pair of new Big 12 opponents. Utah will take on West Virginia on Thursday, Nov. 21, returning to action on Sunday, Nov. 24, closing out the weekend against Cincinnati.

Utah will end its season on the road, traveling to Ames, Iowa for a showdown with the Cyclones from Iowa State on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
