SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah women's soccer coach
Hideki Nakada unveiled his 2026 signing class on Wednesday and it includes four new Utes, all of whom will be joining the program in time for the start of the 2026 campaign.
"I'm really excited to welcome and announce this signing class of student-athletes," said coach
Hideki Nakada. "This is a small class, but one that packs a big punch. We're bringing back a strong core that defines how we play, and this group fills key needs that will help us take another step forward, especially in the final third and in goalkeeping. I'm really excited for them to come in, compete and raise the level of our program. Go Utes!"
Hailey Cobb – Defender – Scottsdale, Ariz. – Notre Dame Preparatory – Phoenix Rising 08G ECNL
In four years on the field for the Notre Dame Saints, Hailey Cobb has helped lead her team to a state championship, earned her program's Impact Player of the Year award and been elected a team captain. She's also garnered a spot on the all-region second-team.
Cobb's club résumé is just as impressive. During her time with Phoenix Rising 08G ECNL, she's collected three straight All-Southwest Conference First-Team selections, as well as an ECNL conference cup spot. She was also a three-time invitee to the U.S. Youth National Team ID Center.
Hailey is the daughter of Kelly and Jeff Cobb and she has two siblings, Kaisey and Brody.
Cara Yang – Defender – Whitewater, Wis. – Whitewater High School – Milwaukee Kickers, Polonia SC, SC Wave and FC Wisconsin
Yang started piling up accomplishments early in her career, starting when she was 10 and was selected to train and play overseas with 12 other female soccer players from the U.S. Soon after, she helped guide her U12 and U13 teams to league titles and, in 2019 and 2020, she earned spots on her state's Olympic Development Program roster. Yang was later invited to train at a U.S. Youth National Team ID Center. Most recently, her play garnered her a place on the ECNL Midwest All-Conference First-Team.
Yang lettered in basketball, volleyball and track and field at Whitewater High School.
Cara is the daughter of Sha and Joy Yang and has four siblings, Catherine, Caleigh, Claire and Caleb. She'll be studying Kinesiology. Her mother played soccer at Meredith College and her sister, Catherine, competed in volleyball for UW-Whitewater.
Mia Avery – Forward – Canton, Mich. – Salem High School – Plymouth Reign & Michigan Hawks
Mia Avery has done nothing but win in her club career. In 2021, she was part of a squad that took home the Michigan State Cup Championship and in 2023, her team won the ECNL National Championship. The last two seasons have seen her lead the Michigan Hawks to a pair of conference titles. Avery's skills on the pitch earned her a spot on the 2021 Olympic Development Program Regional Team.
At Salem High School, Avery lettered in basketball, assisting her squad in reaching the state final four in 2022-23, and track and field, where she was a two-time state qualifier.
Mia is the daughter of Marcus and Sarah Avery and has two siblings, Lucas and Leo. She'll be pursuing a degree in biology.
Jastel David – Forward – Corona, Calif. – Rancho Santa Margarita Catholic High School – Legends FC & HB Koge Slammers
David was a four-year starter in high school and an All-CIF-Southern Section First-Team honoree, as well as a three-time All-Trinity League pick, with her 2025 season landing her on the all-league first-team. Her performance on the pitch has helped her team win both CIF and state championships.
David also lettered in track and field and was just as successful in that arena. She was part of a 4x400 quartet that qualified for the CIF state meet and helped her 4x100 and 4x400 teams achieve CIF-SS master qualifier status. Her 4x400 squad posted second-place finishes in the Trinity League and the CIF-SS.
Jastel is the daughter of Kristel and Jason David and has four siblings, Aerilyn, Charlize, Indi and Nola.
