PALM DESERT, Calif. – The Utah men's basketball team secured a hard-fought 75-74 victory over the Ole Miss Rebels inside of the Acrisure Center on Wednesday night, securing a third-place finish at the Acrisure Series.

Kendyl Sanders connected on a corner three that tied the contest with 13:22 left.Â

Â
Tied at 25-25 with 5:46 in the half, the Utes lurched forward with free throws from
Terrence Brown – which opened a 6-0 run that culminated in two more free throws from
Don McHenry that gave Utah a 31-25 advantage with 4:24 to go.Â
Â
Sharp shooting from McHenry anchored the Utes in the frame, as the senior guard contributed a game-high 19 points (7-of-8 FG) in the half to help his team take a 42-34 lead into the break. Â
Â
As a unit, Utah opened the game shooting 4-for-11 from the floor before connecting on 11-of-16 shots in the final 11:21 of the period.Â
Â
Utah's advantage ballooned to 58-44 in the opening minutes of the second half thanks to a layup from McHenry at the 15:37 mark.Â
Â
From there, the Rebels (5-2) weaseled their way back into the contest by way of a 17-7 scoring run that spanned 6:28 minutes. Utah shot 3-of-9 during the same stretch as Ole Miss tied the game at 67-67 on a three from Ilias Kamardine and 4:21 remaining.Â
Â
Down 72-70 with 1:35 to go, a corner three from McHenry gave the Utes a 73-72 advantage that was short-lived behind a hook shot from Kamardine on the next possession.
Â
A blocked layup by Brown and missed 3-pointer from Ole Miss gave the Utes an attempt at a game-winning shot with 9 seconds to go in regulation.Â
Â
With 94 feet to traverse and nine seconds to score, Brown weaved through traffic and drew a foul for a chance to give Utah the go-ahead lead. The junior guard connected with both attempts from the line to make it 75-74 in favor of the Utes and managed to hang on with Rebels failing to get a shot off in time.Â
Â
McHenry led Utah with a season-high 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field – including a season-best 5-of-6 from down range. Brown rounded out the dynamic guard duo with 14 points of his own to go along with 4 assists. Forward
