SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men's basketball team returns home to the friendly confines of the Jon M. Huntsman Center this weekend as prepares to host a pair of games in three days, starting with No. 17/20 Kansas this Saturday, Feb. 15, at 8 p.m. (MST).

ESPN as Utah looks to upend an AP ranked opponent for the first time since December of 2023 and put an end to its two-game skid.

RETURN OF RED PANDA
The world-famous Red Panda halftime act returns to the Jon M. Huntsman Center and will perform this Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Utah vs. #17/22 Kansas game.

Saturday's game vs. #17/20 Kansas will also serve as the Dark Mode game for Utah. Fans are encouraged to wear black.

The Utah Athletics Department will be honoring Dr. William A. Smith and Dr. Paula Smith for their work in the community at the under-12 media break of the first half.

After his performance at Cincinnati,
Gabe Madsen is now four 3-pointers away from tying the school record for career 3-pointers and five 3-pointers away from breaking the program's 3-point record that is currently owned by Nick Jacobson (2000-04) with 287 career 3-pointers.

Utah guard
Gabe Madsen finally broke out of his slump this past Tuesday against Cincinnati on the road. The 6-6 guard tied a career-high with eight 3-pointers against his former team – which is tied for the second-most in a single-game ever at Utah. Meanwhile his 22 3-point field-goal attempts set a new single-game record for Utah and also set a new single-game record at Fifth Third Arena record by any opponent or Cincinnati player.

CONGRATS PHIL!
Former Utah men's basketball forward Phil Cullen will be honored at this weekend's NBA All-Star Breakfast with the Jerry Colangelo Award at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

The award is awarded to someone who exemplifies a life of leadership, character and faith, on the court, in the home and community. His life goes beyond basketball, making an impact on those he touches. This award is presented to someone in the NBA Community.

It'll be a quick turnaround for the Runnin' Utes this weekend as they'll get just one day to prepare for Kansas State, who will come into the Jon M. Huntsman Center on Monday, Feb. 17, for a 7 p.m. (MST) tip-off on ESPN2. Roxy Bernstein will be joined alongside Sean Farnham as to call the action as Utah and Kansas State square off for the first time since Nov. 25, 1983 – a 63-53 affair in favor of the Utes in Rosemont, Ill., at the Tribune Classic.

The Utes will get some extended time off between games before hitting the road once again, this time all the way to the Sunshine State for a 2 p.m. (MST) battle with UCF on Sunday, Feb. 23. Drew Fellios will have the call with former UCF Knight BJ Taylor serves as the Runnin' Utes and Knights battle it out for the first time in the United States.
