Women of Utah Open Outdoor Season at Trojan Invitational Saturday

The Utah track & field team heads to Southern California this weekend to open the outdoor season.
SALT LAKE CITY – With the indoor season all wrapped up, the Utah track & field team heads straight into the outdoor portion of the season as it travels down to Los Angeles for the Trojan Invitational this Saturday at Loker Track Stadium on the campus of USC.

UTAH PARTICIPANTS: Chelsea Amoah, Lauren Ayers, Rachel Bair, Lela Divinity, Annie Ivins, Bailey Kealamakia, Kylie Hartnett, Claire Le Gallo, Emily Martin, Grace Moroney, Megan Rose, Chloe Shewell, Chloe Taylor, Shana Van Elderen

The Women of Utah will send 14 participants to kick off the outdoor season with Chelsea Amoah, Lauren Ayers, Lela Divinity, Claire Le Gallo and Chloe Taylor making their outdoor debut as a Ute. Amoah, Ayers and Divinity will all compete in their first outdoor event as freshmen while Le Gallo and Taylor are both transfers.

ALL-AMERICAN WRAP UP
The indoor season for Utah culminated with the Utes sending their first DMR team to the NCAA Indoor Championships and also coming home with All-Americas honors. The DMR squad consisted of Bri Rinn, Emily Martin, Kyla Martin, Erin Vringer and Madi Hulsey (alt) also ran the second-fastest DMR time in program history on its way to earning fifth-overall at the NCAA Championships.

It was the first indoor All-America honor for all five Utes and also the first relay group to earn All-America status. The last time Utah had All-Americans during the indoor season came in 2023 when Simone Plourde and Emily Venters both garnered the award.

The Utes will get to stay local next week as they send a select group down to Utah Valley for the UVU Invitational on Friday, March 28, at Hal Wing Track & Field.
