Olympics Central - Utah Skiing
A program-record twelve current and former members of the Utah ski team were named to represent their respective countries at the 2022 Winter Olympics. It is part of a group of 38 total athletes competing holding ties to the University of Utah--more than any other university in the world. Spread across six countries, the Utah ski Olympians include Tomas Birkner (Argentina), Kevin Bolger (United States), Keely Cashman (United States), Snorri Einarsson (Iceland), Luke Jager (United States), Sophia Laukli (United States), Mo Lebel (United States), Novie McCabe (United States), Katie Parker (Australia), Roni Remme (Canada) and Katie Vesterstein (Estonia). Australia's Madison Hoffman also earned the incredible honor of being named an Olympian, but was unable to compete during the Games as a result of a race-related injury that took place in January 2022.
Utah skiing was also represented on the coaching stage as former Ute Nick Hendrickson now serves as the United States' Nordic combined team head coach.
