2023: Appeared in 15 games, starting once...hit .333 in 18 at-bats, with a double, a homer, four RBIs and two runs scored...blasted a pinch-hit two-run homer on 3/4 against Niagara...knocked in a run with a pinch-hit knock on 4/7 vs. Arizona State...whacked a pinch-hit RBI double on 4/25 at Utah Valley.
2022: Played in 42 games and made 22 starts in her senior campaign... batted .192 with a career-high 15 hits, one double, two home runs, seven RBI and four runs scored... hit her first career home run against Sacramento State (2/18)... saw a four-game hitting streak and owned the fifth-longest reached base streak on the team at nine games... recorded two multi-hit games going 2-for-2 against Sacramento State (2/18) and 2-for-4 on the road against #13 Arizona State (4/16)... finished with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage... posted a career high seven putouts at Arizona State (4/16).Â
2021:Â Played in 32 games and made 11 starts as the DH... batted .318 (14-44) with one double, three RBI and two runs scored... walked twice... double came at Weber State (4/20)... career-high two hits at Arizona (4/25).
2020: Played in 6 games and started one as the DH… batting average of .200, with one hit in 5 at-bats, but made that hit count, driving in 2 runs for her 2 RBI on the year (at San Diego, Feb. 24).
Prior to Utah: Espinosa played the 2019 season at Texas, appearing in 14 games with 11 at-bats (1 hit)... she walked three times and scored four runs.
Espinosa hit .429 as a starter at shortstop for Valor Christian in Highlands Ranch, Colo. She also accumulated a 1.479 OPS, .920 slugging percentage, 34 hits, six doubles, two triples and a state-leading 14 home runs as the Eagles reached team the state semifinals. Valor Christian won a state title during her junior season when she hit .625 with a 1.725 OPS.
Espinosa played travel ball for Triple Crown Stars and head coach David King. She blasted a pair of grand slams in the semifinal of the Colorado Fireworks Power Pool to help her club team rally from a 7-0 deficit and advance to the title game.
Personal: Eli is the daughter of Neil Espinosa and Stephanie Vallejos. Her brother, Estefan, played football at Colorado State-Pueblo and she worked with her high school team as part of the athletic training unit.
