Megan McClelland started her role as the Assistant Director of Sports Nutrition in August of 2022. McClelland works
primarily with the volleyball, cross country, track & field, lacrosse, women’s tennis, golf, and beach volleyball
programs. She works to optimize the Utah athletes’ health and sports performance through individualized
nutrition programs, education, and counseling.
Before arriving at the U, McClelland served as the Olympic Sports Nutrition Fellow at the University of
Maryland, where she provided nutrition education and care of four athletic teams, managed Fueling Stations,
and provided oversight of sports nutrition volunteers. Prior to this, McClelland worked in outpatient
counseling helping clients make sustainable nutrition habits to support long-term health.
McClelland earned her Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition Science, Dietetics from the University of
Maryland, where she also competed on the Division I gymnastics team. She is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD).
