Kate Holdeman is in her 11th season with the Utah Volleyball program heading into the 2025 season. After serving as Director of Operations over her first two seasons, Holdeman made the move to Director of Alumni and Community Relations in 2016 where she has remained since.
Holdeman's responsibilities involve cultivating positive relationships within the Salt Lake Valley community to build a connection between donors and alumni to current student-athletes. She is also responsible for keeping former student-athletes engaged with the program they helped build after graduation by overseeing special events and reunions throughout the season to keep Utah Volleyball's alumni relations strong.Â
Holdeman has coached around the Salt Lake City area since 2005, including head coaching stints for the Elite 14s and 17s teams for the High Country Volleyball Club from 2011-13 and the Elite 17s and 18s teams at the Utah Juniors Volleyball Club from 2009-11. She has also served as an instructor at the University of Utah’s Volleyball Summer Camps since 2006.
Prior to her current role, Holdeman was a Facilities Engineer at BioFire Diagnostics in Salt Lake City (June 2013-June 2014), Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah (June 2009 to 2013) and an Engineering Intern at Northrop Grumman in Clearfield, Utah.
Holdeman was a four-year letter winner for the Utes as an outside hitter from 2004 through 2007. She had 504 career kills, 738 digs, 116 blocks and 58 service aces. She was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week on Nov. 19, 2007 after leading Utah to a 2-0 week, including an upset of No. 25 UNLV. Holdeman was also named to the MWC Tournament team and averaged 2.76 kills per set during her senior campaign.
The former Kate Robison is married to Scott Holdeman and the couple has three children. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah in May of 2009.
