He also oversees the talent and content creation aspects of Utes Productions, established by Utah Athletics in 2024 to begin producing digital broadcasts for ESPN+ as part of its membership in the Big 12 Conference.
Prior to his tenure with the Utes, Kirk spent seven years at Colorado State. In that time he also served as the media relations lead for the 2011 and 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and led Drake's initiatives to extend the reach of its social media efforts and expand its use of video across all of its digital media platforms.
Kirk spent the previous three years (2008-11) as a partner with ProLink Sports, where his expertise centered on connecting professional athletes and organizations with community and charitable opportunities, as well as image and brand management, public relations, fan communication, speaking opportunities and appearances. Prior to launching ProLink Sports in 2008, Kirk was instrumental in directing the media operations of the Denver Broncos, including the back-to-back World Championship seasons of 1997 and 1998. Kirk joined the Broncos in 1995 as a media relations assistant, was media relations manager from 1999-2002 and director of media relations from 2002-08. He was involved in all aspects of the team's public relations operation and produced the team's media guide for the majority of his years with the club.
Kirk began his career as an undergraduate at the University of Washington, working as a student assistant for Husky athletics in the sports information office. There his opportunities included game support for men's basketball, football and a variety of other sports, as well as day-to-day media relations operations for the Huskies' men's and women's tennis and softball teams.
Upon receiving his bachelor's degree in communications from Washington, Kirk accepted a graduate assistant position at Arizona State University.
