The Utah baseball team completed a three game sweep of in-state rival Brigham Young on Saturday, 19-13. Utah scored nine runs in the second inning to claim a lead they would never relinquish. Utah blasted five home runs, three coming in the eighth inning. Utah's Rick Clagett picked up his fifth win of the season and second over the Cougars. Utah defeated BYU in the opener 16-7. Gary Thornton picked up the win in relief. In route to a five for six performance at the plate, sophomore Sam Swenson led off the game with a solo home run. In Friday's action, the Utes again jumped out early on the Cougars , taking an early 7-0 lead. Jared Larsen and John Summers doubled for the Utes and Eric Wallace hit a triple. Ray Clinton picked up the 13-8 decision over BYU.
