SALT LAKE CITY -
Senior defensive back Jay Hill (Lehi, Utah) made history by becoming the first Ute to receive a Mountain West Conference Player of the Week award. Hill was named the MWC Defensive Player of the Week for games from Sept. 13-18, after his instrumental part in Utah's 38-18 victory over Utah State. Hill had two interceptions, six tackles and one pass breakup against the Aggies. Both interceptions were critical: His first saved an Aggie touchdown, when he picked off a pass in the end zone on a first-and-goal play from the 5-yard line. He ran the second back 22 yards for a touchdown.
