Upcoming Event: Men's Tennis versus Utah Invitational on October 3, 2025

The University of Utah tennis team continued play through Friday, Oct. 6 at the BYU Invitational. The Utes are still thriving on the performance of Nik Yip who has rallied to win three straight matches and will compete in a semifinal match-up against Boise State's Mark Roberts Sat. Oct. 7 at 10:00 a.m. After defeating BSU's Mahmoud Rezk, Yip edged out Michael Gyson from BYU, 6-5, 6-5. The victory placed Yip in a quarter-final match against teammate David Mercier, who Yip defeated 6-4, 6-2.
Kevin Zenger has also had a stellar performance for the Utes, and has reached the semifinals of the consolation round. After losing an opening round match, Zenger defeated Jeff Olsen of BYU and Tonislav Sokolic of Montana and will now face Rezk in the elimination game.
Zenger and Yip also teamed up to reach the quarter-finals in the doubles competition, but lost to a tandem of Boise State to be eliminated. Daniel Carlsson and Patrick Wallebring reached the quarter-finals of the consolation bracket, but suffered defeat to Montana.
The Invitational will wrap up with the singles finals at 1:00 p.m. and the doubles finals at 3:00 p.m.
