SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah men's tennis team defeated the Idaho Vandals 4-3 Friday afternoon at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center.

DOUBLES
In doubles action, Utah duo AJ Deem and Lorenzo Esquici claimed a 6-1 victory over the Vandal's Paul Janson and Eric Wang at the No. 3 spot.

The Vandals clinched the doubles point advantage with wins at the No. 2 and 3 courts.

SINGLES
In singles action, the Utah Utes fought back when Balthazar Huss got the Utes on the board with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win over the Vandal's Valentin Glasl at the No. 5 spot.

On court No. 6, Utah's Charles Frey continued the Utes' momentum with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Idaho's Noe De Col.

At the No. 2 spot, Utah's Emmett Potter defeated Idaho's Gabriel Moroder 6-3, 6-4 to give the Utes a 3-1 advantage.

Utah's Lorenzo Esquici clinched the match for the Utes on court No. 4 against the Vandal's Eric Wang. Esquici won his first set 6-2 but dropped his second set 3-6. Esquici claimed the third set 6-2 to clinch the overall match for the Utes.

At the No. 3 spot, Utah's Simeon Terziev won his first set 7-6(5) against Vandal's Mikolaj Lis but fell 6-3 in the second set. Lis claimed the victory against Terziev with a 6-0 win in the third set.

On court No. 1, Utah's Dante Teramo won his first set 6-3, but dropped his second set 7-6(5) to the Vandal's Chetanna Amadike. Amadike was up 1-0 in the third set before Teramo retired.

UP NEXT
The Utes will end the regular season tomorrow, April 11, against the BYU Cougars at 4 p.m. Senior day celebrations will occur in between the doubles and singles matches.
