SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men's tennis team rallied for a big 4-2 win over Texas Tech Sunday afternoon.

The Utes now have a 5-13 overall record and sit at 1-4 in Big 12 play.

DOUBLES
The Utes started off strong by clinching the doubles point. Texas Tech claimed the No. 2 doubles to start things off. At the No. 1 spot, Dante Teramo and Balthazar Huss defeat Niska Arsic and Thiago Guglieri in a tiebreak 7-6 (3).

The point advantage came down to the No. 3 spot where Lorenzo Esquici and AJ Deem battled into a tiebreak with Felipe Pagnacco and Thomas VanDen Dooren. The Utah duo came out victorious with a 7-6 (6) score.

SINGLES
In singles action, Texas Tech rallied with two wins at the No. 5 spot and then at the No. 3 spot to take a 2-1 match lead.

Utah had an answer as Charles Frey defeated Sebastian Abboud 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 6 spot to tie things back up for the Utes.

Dante Teramo was the next to finish at the No. 1 spot claiming a 6-1, 6-4 win over Niska Arsic to give Utah back the edge.

Emmett Potter clinched the match for Utah as he defeated Tyler Stewart 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot.

Lorenzo Esquici and Felipe Pagnacco were tied at one set all before remaining unfinished.

UP NEXT
The Utes will hit the road to take on No. 8 Baylor on April 2 before taking on No. 5 TCU on April 4. Utah will return home for senior weekend to host Idaho April 10 and BYU on April 11.
