Utes at a Glance

Amazing Feat
First baseman Nate Weese led the Utes last weekend with a .526 five-game batting average. The sophomore was 4-for-4 hitting three home runs, including a grand slam, and a double to drive in 10 runs in Utah's 15-10 victory over Southern Utah. In Utah's 12-4 victory over San Diego State, he collected three doubles and a triple to bring in six runs. Weese leads the team with nine home runs and 44 RBI. He is tied for the Utah single game home run record (3) and the season triples record (6). He ranks third for the Utes with a .321 batting average.
In the Mountain West Conference, Weese leads the league with six triples and is second with nine home runs. He also ranks fourth with 103 total bases and fifth with a 162 at bats. He is eighth with a .636 slugging percentage. In the field, Weese leads the league with 425 chances, 396 putouts and 38 double plays. He was a Mountain West Conference Player of the Week nominee for the week of April 17-22.
At the Plate
Centerfielder Sam Swenson leads the Utah batting brigade with a .342 batting average. He also leads the team with 54 hits and 18 doubles. He is second with four triples, seven home runs and 33 RBI.
