Salt Lake City - The No. 15th ranked University of Utah women's volleyball team continued a nine-match win streak with a 3-0 (30-19, 30-21, 30-28) win over the Wyoming Cowgirls on Fri., Nov. 2 at Crimson Court. Utah improves to 17-4 overall, 9-2 in the MWC. Wyoming drops to 8-11 overall, 3-7 in MWC play.
Senior McKelle Stilson racked up 11 kills for a .556 hitting percentage. Teammates Sylva Strzinkova and Alisa Geddes combined for 14 kills in the match. Geddes led the team with 10 digs and posted a career-high seven service aces. Adrianne Drake notched eight digs on the night. Sophomore Jackie Morrill posted 20 assists and five digs, and freshman Kelsie Kartchner notched 14 assists in the match. As a team Utah posted an .144 hitting percentage. Utah totaled 8.5 blocks in the match.
For the Cowgirls, Sara Maytorena and Rachel Lau racked up 10 kills each. Maytorena led the team with 10 digs and teammate Amy Doman notched 24 assists. Wyoming hit for .065 in the match.
UP NEXT: The Utes will match-up with the Colorado State Rams on Sat., Nov. 3, at 7:00 p.m. at Crimson Court. Utah will face the Aztecs of San Diego State at 7:00 p.m. in San Diego, Calif. The Utes will take on the Rebels of UNLV on Sat., Nov. 10, at 7:00 p.m. in Las Vegas, Nev. On Nov. 15-17, the Utes will compete for the MWC Tournament crown in Provo, Utah.
