Nate Weese Named Mountain West Conference Player of the Week

SALT LAKE CITY -

Utah first baseman Nate Weese was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week. Weese, a junior from Bountiful, Utah went 7-for-14 (.500) with one run scored and three RBI in the three games against Arizona last weekend.

Friday Weese went 3-for-5 with two RBI in the Utes' 8-7 loss to Arizona. Satrurday he was 1-for-5 in Utah's 6-4 win, and finished the series with a 3-for-4 game including an RBI in the 5-4 loss.

Weese is currently third on the Utes with his .352 batting average. So Far this season he has 25 hits, 12 runs scored, four doubles, four home runs, and a team leading 19 RBI. Weese is the first Ute to win player of the week honors this season, and it is the first of his career.
