ST. GEORGE, UTAH - It took a great outing from Kristin Arbogast, but the Utah Utes picked up their second win of the Red Desert Classic in St. George, Utah. After losing three of their first four games in the tournament, Utah responded with a 4-0 defeat of Utah State.
Arbogast held the Aggies to one hit and the Utes put four runs on the board to get Arbogast the win. Niki Hayhurst finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI and Lyndsey Trevis was 2-for-2 with an RBI. The Utes outhit the Aggies 11-1 as seven Utes had at least one hit.
This was Arbogast's best outing of the tournament as she allowed zero runs and only one hit in seven innings. She also recorded seven strikeouts and only walked three in picking up her sixth win of the season.
The Utes are now at 8-9 overall and finished 2-3 in the tournament.
