Hoosiers Head Coach Mike Davis
Mike Davis is in his second season as IU's head coach with a 41-24 record. His 21 wins last season (21-13) were the most for any first-year head coach in IU's 101-year history. The Hoosiers went 10-6 in the Big Ten in 2000-01, placing fifth, and advanced to the conference tournament championship game. They entered the NCAA Tournament with a No. 2 national ranking and a No. 4 seed.
Before taking over the program, Davis was an assistant coach for three seasons at Indiana under Bob Knight. Davis went to Indiana after a two-year stint (1995-97) as an assistant coach on David Hobbs' staff at Alabama. While playing for the Crimson Tide in college, Davis was coached by C.M. Newton his first year and Wimp Sanderson the last three. Davis was Alabama's Mr. Basketball and a prep All-American in 1979.
