With six hits against Southern Utah last weekend, Nate Weese surpassed former Ute Sam Swenson (228) on the career hits list. Weese, a senior, now totals 231 in his career and has a lot of season left to add to that total. The Bountiful native will also break the Ute record for career at bats (726), also held by Swenson, in the New Mexico series Mar. 15-17. Weese currently has 722 career at bats.
Adam Castleton is quickly approaching the career triples and doubles records. Castleton has 12 triples in his career and needs just three to tie the school record (Swenson, 15). The Midvale native, who has 53 doubles, needs three more to tie the school doubles record (Casey Child, 56) and could do it this weekend in the New Mexico series.
Mitch Maio has six saves in his career and needs three more to tie the school record (Brandon Page, 9). The Salt Lake native has two saves and three wins so far this season.
Mike Basham tied the single game record with his six hits in game two against Southern Utah on Mar. 10.
