SALT LAKE CITY--Utah hurler Cheyenne Rushton was named Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week on Apr. 29. The senior righthander held first-place San Diego State to one run off five hits as he earned his seventh victory of the season by a 2-1 count last weekend. Rushton, from West Jordan, Utah, struck out seven batters in eight innings pitched and picked off his league-leading seventh baserunner of the year.
This is the second time Rushton has received league honors this season. He is now 7-3 with 52 strikeouts and a 4.50 ERA on the year.
