Britton Johnsen Named Wooden Award Candidate

SALT LAKE CITY - Britton Johnsen, heading into his senior season with the Utah men's basketball team, has been named to the Wooden Award Preseason All-America Team. Johnsen, a 6-9 forward from Murray, Utah, is one of 50 student-athletes considered early frontrunners for John R. Wooden Award, presented annually to college basketball's player of the year.
Last season, Johnsen was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year, the USBWA District 8 Player of the Year and first team NABC/Pontiac All-District 13. He led the Runnin' Utes to a 21-9 record and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Johnsen ranked 13th in the Mountain West in scoring (12.6 ppg) and eighth in rebounding (6.3 rpg).
