Utes Picked To Finish Second In Preseason Coaches' Poll

SALT LAKE CITY--The University of Utah softball team has been picked to finish second in the Mountain West Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Utes received 20 total points and one first place vote. After finishing second during the regular season, the Utes (30-36, 10-4 MWC) captured the league tournament last year to advance to the NCAA Regionals for the 10th time in school history.

San Diego State, the favorite to win, grabbed 25 total points along with five first place votes. The Aztecs finished as the conference regular season winner last year. BYU was selected to finish third, followed by UNLV, New Mexico and Colorado State.
