SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah men's basketball team will be featured at least five times on ESPN and ESPN2, four times on the ESPN Regional "Mountain West Conference Game of the Week," and will have nine games televised locally by KJZZ-TV during the 2003-04 season.
ESPN will show two of the Utes' nonconference games. Their game at LSU on Dec. 16 at 8:00 p.m. CST and home contest against Pepperdine on Jan. 5 at 10:00 p.m. MST will be picked-up by the cable network. The game against Pepperdine will be a part of "Big Monday" opening night. Utah's road games at UNLV on Jan. 12 and BYU on March 1, and home meeting with Colorado State on Jan. 19 will also be a part of the "Big Monday" package.
Should Utah advance beyond the first round of the Owens Corning Preseason NIT, it would have its next three games shown by either ESPN or ESPN2. The Utes' potential second round NIT game on Nov. 19 with either Minnesota or UMKC would be on ESPN2 at 8:30 p.m. MST. The semifinal and consolation/championship rounds of the NIT will be shown by both ESPN and ESPN2 on Nov. 26 and 28.
The KJZZ-TV package includes seven Mountain West games, and nonconference games with Utah State at home (Dec. 3) and Weber State on the road (Jan. 2). KJZZ-TV is also the Salt Lake affiliate for the ESPN Regional package.
In all, at least 18 games, including all 14 conference games, will be televised this season.
