SALT LAKE CITY - Utah senior forward Britton Johnsen has earned first team all-District 13 honors by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
Johnsen is averaging 12.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this season despite tearing a ligament in his right thumb in mid-December. After missing two games with the injury, Johnsen returned in late December and played with a splint on his thumb for the next month.
Through nine conference games, the Murray, Utah, native is averaging 12.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game with 12 steals. This is the second consecutive year Johnsen has been named all-District 13.
Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, the 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-America Team to be announced at the conclusion of the 2002-03 season.
