The Thunderbirds dropped the second game 3-0. In the first game of the second doubleheader, SUU rallied for six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, including the game-winning RBI from junior outfielder Tyler Hunter on a hit-by-pitch to win 6-5. Air Force then pounded out 10 hits to take the series finale, 9-2. Perkins and senior infielder Ty Doezie earned Mid-Continent Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week awards for their play against Air Force. Doezie hit .571 in the series and sparked SUU's 6-5 comeback win in game three with a two-run double in the seventh inning.
