Colorado Springs, Colo.--Utah freshman Lynsey Wall has been named Mountain West Conference Player of the Week. This is the second weekly honor for the newcomer this year.
Wall went 6-for-16 (.375) from the plate in five games last week, helping the Utes to three victories. The Farmington, Utah, native, hit three home runs and a double, while driving in 12 runs and scoring five of her own. Wall hit safely in four of five games, starting with a 1-for-2, three RBI outing in Utah's 6-2 victory over Utah State. In game one against conference opponent New Mexico, Wall went 2-for-4 with a home run, a career-high four RBI and two runs scored as the Utes pulled out a 7-3 win. In game two versus the Lobos, she belted two more home runs, drove in three runs and scored two more in the 10-7 Ute win. Wall is currently batting .291 with six home runs and 22 RBI on the year.
