SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team brought their regular season to a close today with a 7-0 win over the visiting Montana Grizzlies. The victory was the Utes third in a row, and sets the team record at 11-13 overall.
The Utes were able to secure the doubles point by winning all three doubles matches. Mike Bullard continued to ably fill in for Kaisorn Chaichana, teaming once again for a win with Daniel Lohff in an 8-5 win in number three singles over Ryan O' Neill and Varun Giri. Also winning were the duos ov Roeland Brateanu and Nick Coutts, and Tomasz Grzyb and Tyler Poulson, with 8-4 and 8-3 wins respectively.
In singles play, Nick Coutts continued his hot streak, has his 6-2, 6-3 in over Varun Giri marks six of eight wins for Coutts. Tomasz Grzyb and Roeland Brateanu were also dominant, controlling their opponents to 6-1, 6-1, and 6-2, 6-1 wins, respectively.
Having finished the regular season, the Utes will now look to the next week's Mountain West Conference Championships, held at Brigham Young.
