The Utes (14-16, 4-7) host Southern Utah (7-11) for a noon doubleheader on Tuesday, April 8, at Ute Field.
This weekend, Utah will host UNLV (26-9, 10-2) for a three-game series at Franklin Covey Field. On Thursday, April 10, the Utes face the Rebels at 3 p.m. Game time is 12 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12.

Martinez Approaches Relieving Records
Sophomore reliever Brady Martinez earned his fifth and sixth saves of the season last week against Albertson College and Air Force. In 2 1/3 innings pitched, he struck out three batters and gave up two hits and no runs for a 0.00 ERA. He leads the Ute pitching staff with a 1.47 ERA in 11 appearances on the season.
Martinez now needs just two more saves this season to tie the school single-season record of eight. In addition, with one save last season as a freshman, he now has seven on his career -- just two away from the Utah record of nine.
Udy Named to Johnny Bench Award Watch List
Senior Wick Udy was recently named to the watch list for the 2003 Johnny Bench Award, given to the nation's top collegiate catcher. He was one of 32 athletes on the list, which is compiled from information based on 2002 season and 2003 pre-season honors, and will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists on May 20. In Utah's win over No. 19 Texas A&M, Westmoreland pitched five of seven innings as the Utes upset the Aggies 4-1 in College Station, Texas. He struck out four batters and allowed just two hits and one earned run over five innings before teammate Ben Buck closed out the game's final two innings.
