Quoting Head Coach Mona Stevens
"We really needed the bye weekend to rest some of our injured players. It's nice to take a break from the constant play and practice.
"We are looking forward to playing Kansas and Nebraska, which are two solid Big 12 teams. It's also exciting for us to play near Heather (Bowlin) and Glennis' (Donnelly) hometowns since they are seniors.
"Our team is going to be fresh and sharp this weekend. We are playing great teams and on the verge of winning against those great teams. We have four chances to get those wins this weekend."
Ute Notables
Utah has recorded 21 home runs through its 13 games, including six multiple homer outings. The school record for homers in a season is 60, which was set by the 2001 team. Something to note is seven different Utes have at least one home run this season, making it truly a team effort.
The Utes have at least one extra-base hit in 12 of their 13 games. The lone game without one was the loss to No. 17 LSU at the UNLV Softball Classic.
