Clay Westmoreland (2-4) suffered the loss, allowing eight runs (four earned) over two innings. Junior Matt Ciaramella led a group of seven Utes with multi-hit games. He went 3-for-5 with one run scored and five RBI. Tyson Olson and Jay Brossman added three hits apiece.

He was the only Ute with a multi-hit game.
Scouting the Opposition
UVSC, which is currently on a five-game winning streak, swept Weber State 2-1 and 15-5 in a doubleheader last Wednesday. In game one, Jed Jensen threw a complete game two-hitter, giving up just one unearned run in the win. Reno Mendenhall went 2-for-3 on the game, accounting for both of UVSC's runs when he drove in Jeff Broadhead and Jeremy Harris in the third inning with a double off the left field wall. Pepe Jones was the only other Wolverine with more than one hit in the first game. He went 2-for-2.
In the nightcap, the Wolverine bats got going early as they scored seven runs in the first two innings, including a six-run second. Mendenhall went 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs. But Jensen stole the show, hitting for the cycle with a grand slam and six RBI. Daniel Bulow and Dylan Priest also had two-hit days going 2-for-3 and 2-for-4, respectively. Brady Drake earned the win, pitching five scoreless innings before giving way to relievers Eliot Dalton and Adam Sorenson.
