SALT LAKE CITY - The Runnin' Utes make two appearances on ESPN's "Big Monday" and play in the Great Alaska Shootout in 2004-05, as their complete schedule was unveiled today. Utah also has match-ups with Arizona, Colorado and LSU during the nonconference season, and will play four times in the ESPN+Plus Mountain West Conference "Game of the Week" in Ray Giacoletti's first season.

The Runnin' Utes open their Mountain West schedule against UNLV on ESPN's "Big Monday" on Jan. 10 in Salt Lake City. Two first-year head coaches in Giacoletti and UNLV's Lon Krueger make their Mountain West debut in the 10:00 p.m. (MST) contest. Utah's other ESPN "Big Monday" appearance comes against in-state rival BYU in Provo on Jan. 31.
Utah's first two games on the ESPN+Plus Saturday afternoon MWC "Game of the Week" will be against New Mexico in the Huntsman Center on Jan. 22 and at Air Force on Feb. 19. The Utes' final two games of the regular-season will also be on ESPN+Plus with home games against BYU on Feb. 26 and San Diego State on March 5. The ESPN+Plus "Game of the Week" airs at 1:00 p.m. (MST) and is shown in Salt Lake City on KJZZ-TV 14.
Utah has been invited to the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout, Nov. 24-27 in Anchorage, Alaska. Joining the Runnin' Utes in the tournament field are: Alabama, Alaska Anchorage, Furman, High Point, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Washington. The Utes play Washington in the first round on Nov. 25 at 9:30 p.m. (MST) on ESPN2. In all, Utah will have at least seven games on national or regional television this season, the most of any team in the Mountain West Conference.
Utah hosts Colorado of the Big 12 Conference on Dec. 30 and LSU of SEC on Jan. 3 in the Huntsman Center. The Utes begin a home-and-home series with Arizona this season, playing the first game on Dec. 11 in Tucson, Ariz. Utah also plays its three traditional in-state rivals in 2004-05, hosting Southern Utah on Nov. 30 and Weber State on Dec. 28. The Runnin' Utes play Utah State in Logan on Dec. 4.
