The Utah men's tennis team opens its fall schedule at the Denver Fall Invitational, Friday through Sunday in Denver, Colo. The tournament, hosted by the University of Denver, takes place at the Stapleton Tennis Pavilion and Cherry Hills Country Club. Matches will start at 8 a.m. all three days.
Tournament Facts
The Denver Fall Invitational field will consist of two singles flights, A (seeded flight) and B with 32 competitors in each flight. The singles competition is double-elimination. The doubles bracket is an open single-elimination draw of 32 pairs. The tournament pairings will be announced Thursday evening. Utah returns seven letterwinners from last year's team that went 14-8 overall and placed fifth in the Mountain West Conference ... Head coach F.D. Robbins is in his 20th season at Utah ... Sophomore Zach Ganger and junior Miron Mann are ranked No. 12 in the 2005-06 ITA preseason doubles poll. Ganger, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mann, from Toronto, Canada, advanced to the NCAA Championships last season.
Coming Up
Utah competes in the All-American Tournament, Oct. 6-9 in Tulsa, Okla. The Utes host the Utah Invitational Oct. 13-16 in Salt Lake City.
