Tulsa, Okla. - Zach Ganger of the University of Utah men's tennis team advances to the Round of 64 in the qualifying rounds at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tournament after a big win against the No. 9 seed in the Round of 128.
Ganger competed on Monday against the No. 9 seed and No. 71 nationally ranked Robert Lathouwers from Auburn University. The two battled through three difficult sets in the Round of 128. Lathouwers took the first set after a 7(4)-6 tie breaker, but Ganger answered right back to take the second set 6-2. The Tiger tried to step up his game against the Ute in the third set, but couldn't hold him down. Ganger finished the match victorious with a 6-7(4), 6-2, 6-4 win over Lathouwers.
The Ute will compete on Tuesday in the Round of 64 against No. 121 Dominik Mueller of Baylor University. The match is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.
