The University of Utah baseball team travels to College Station, Texas for four games at the Domino's Pizza Aggie Baseball Classic on the campus of Texas A&M University.
The Utes open the weekend with a Friday afternoon matchup against Missouri State. Utah will face the host team, Texas A&M, on Saturday night. The Utes play a Sunday matinee against UNC Greensboro, before wrapping up with a Monday afternoon game against Missouri State.
Utah enters the game with a record of 4-5, after taking two of three from UC Davis last weekend. The Utes are in the midst of 17 scheduled games away from home to start the season.
Utah Balls & Strikes
? Utah has never matched up with Missouri State (formerly Southwest Missouri State) on the diamond.
? The Utes are 1-2 against Texas A&M. Utah hasn't faced the Aggies since 2003. The first meeting with A&M was back in 1951. ? Utah has never faced UNC Greensboro in baseball.

Missouri State - The Bears have yet to play this season. Missouri State was 26-29 last season. The Bears were picked to finish third in the Missouri Valley Conference this season. The Bears finished last season with an 11-game winning streak.
Texas A&M - The Aggies are already 8-0 on the season. A&M is coming off a 14-3 win over Texas-Arlington. The Aggies face UNC Greensboro Friday, before taking on Utah. A&M is led by Dalton Parker, who is batting .474. The Aggies' top hurler is Hart Hering, who has three saves and a 0.00 ERA.
UNC Greensboro - The Spartans are currently 1-3 on the season. UNCG is paced at the plate by Logan Smith (.500) and on the mound by Greg Martin (0.00 ERA).
Johnny Be Good
Junior outfielder John Welsh (Salem, Utah) is currently Utah's top hitter. He's also among the top hitters in the MWC on the young season.
Welsh is batting .400 through nine games, which ranks No. 3 in the Mountain West Conference.
Welsh leads the MWC in runs scored (11), runs batted-in (13) and home runs (3). He is second in the league in slugging percentage, with an average of .771.
