SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The University of Utah men's tennis teamed played conference rivals TCU today at the Snowbird Canyon Club. The meet was held outdoors originally, but was put on hold due to rain. The meet was moved to the indoor courts after a short break in order for singles play to finish up. At the end of the day, the Utes fell to the Horned Frogs 1-6.

Senior Nick Coutts stepped it up for the Utes today, posting a big win at No. 3 singles. After ending a grueling tie breaker, Coutts won the match over Jacopo Tezza of TCU 6-4, 2-6 (10-4).

The Utes had close matches today at the No.1 and No. 4 singles spots. Zach Ganger had a tough loss at the No. 1 singles spot. Ganger fought hard in the second round, but the match ended with a 6-3, 7-5 loss to opponent Rafael Abreu from TCU. Playing in the No. 4 spot was freshman Wes Hancock. After having the intermission due to the rain, Hancock played for a close 6-4, 6-3 loss to Cosmin Cotet.

Tomorrow the Utes will be facing the University of New Mexico at 1:00 p.m. This will be the final home match for the Utes before going to the MWC Tournament at the end of this month. This is also the very last home match for the two seniors on the men's team: Nick Coutts and Tomasz Grzyb.

Weather permitting, the matches will continue to be held at the Snowbird Canyon Club; if the weather changes, all matches will be held at Eccles Tennis Center.
