SALT LAKE CITY - Utah senior forward Hailey Marsh has been named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Marsh, from Centennial, Colo., scored two goals in two games last week, leading Utah to a 2-0 win over previously unbeaten Fresno State and a 2-1 loss to No. 21 Colorado, which had just one loss and a tie entering the game.
Marsh got the go-ahead goal in the 86th minute in the Utes' win over Fresno State. At the end of the 16th minute against Colorado, Marsh blasted a left-footed 18-yard shot past Buffalo keeper Kara Linder into the upper right side of the net.
Utah, ranked No. 25 in this week's Soccer Buzz poll, plays two games on the road this week. The Utes play at Purdue on Friday at 5:00 p.m. (CDT) and at Illinois on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. (CDT).
