Runnin' Utes Hold Scrimmage As Season Nears

SALT LAKE CITY -- The University of Utah men's basketball team continued its preparation for Thursday's exhibition opener over the weekend. The Runnin' Utes held a situational scrimmage Saturday evening at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
Johnnie Bryant was the star of the evening, hitting 9-of-13 from the field, including 6-of-7 from three-point range. For the evening, Bryant scored 24 points to lead all scorers. Shaun Green also shot the ball well from three-point range, hitting 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. Green finished with 17 points on the evening.
Lawrence Borha was hot early in the scrimmage. He made 5-of-9 shots (including 4-of-8 from three-point range) and ended his night with 14 points. Kim Tillie was the top rebounder in the scrimmage, grabbing 10 caroms to go along with 14 points.
The Utes will open exhibition play Thursday at 7 p.m., when they host Montana Tech at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
