Utah Tops SUU, Travels to UNLV This Weekend
The University of Utah baseball team will make its first trip outside the state of Utah since March 25 this weekend. The Utes will travel to Las Vegas for a three-game set with UNLV beginning Friday.
Utah enters this weekend's action with a 19-21 overall record and a 7-5 mark in Mountain West Conference play. Utah is coming off an 8-3 win over Southern Utah. The Utes won the season series over the Thunderbirds by a tally of 4-1. Utah and UNLV have already faced off once this season. The Rebels took two of three from the Utes at Franklin Covey Field in early April. That lone loss was the beginning of a 10-game losing streak. UNLV hasn't won a game in the month of April.
The Rebels enter this weekend's action with a 14-29 overall record and a 3-9 MWC mark. UNLV dropped a doubleheader to Oregon State on Sunday in Corvallis, Ore., getting swept in the three-game series.

Utah first baseman Jay Brossman (Pullman, Wash.) already holds two Utah career records. But he could potentially own seven of Utah's 12 career hitting records by the time his Ute career comes to an end later this season. Brossman is already the all-time Ute leader in doubles with 63 (61, Matt Ciaramella, 2002-04) and total bases with 448 (447, Ryan Khoury, 2003-06).
