Dear Ute Fans,
The flight to from Los Angeles to Sydney was very long. Every time I woke up and looked out the window it was dark and I was thinking we were never going to make it. When we arrived in Sydney we ran into former Ute Andrew Bogut. The total time of travel was 29 hours from the time we left the Huntsman Center to the time we arrived in Perth. Once we got to the hotel we went straight to practice and after practice we went to dinner as a team.
As we were getting ready for our first game Coach B was worried about traffic so we left the hotel at 4:30pm for a 7 o'clock tip and we got to the gym at 4:45pm. The gym we played in didn't have any heat in it and due to the cold weather it made the gym colder. Steven Weigh played a great game that night. He had 32 points and Luke played a great second half. We ended up beating the Perth Wildcats by one point. The second night we played the Wildcats again and they were very physical and handed it to us pretty bad, since we beat them the night before.
We have not had too many funny stories on the trip, but one story that everyone must know about is Lawrence Borha (also known as LB). While we were at Luke's house, the team played table tennis and LB was talking big about how good he was. But he lost every game he played due to the lack of skill that he has for the game. It's a good thing he's better at basketball than at table tennis.
Overall, this has been a great trip for learning more about each other and bonding together as a team while learning a new philosophy under Coach Boylen.
