After nine days of intense traveling the Utes have landed in Salt Lake City with an overall tour record of 3 wins and 3 losses.
Going into the final stint of the tour in Rockhampton the team had only one win, which definitely didn't satisfy the coaches, players and the fans of Utah basketball in Rockhampton. The first game in Rocky was played against my former team the Rockhampton Rockets and we came out of the game with a win. The second game, however, was far more competitive against the NBL team from Brisbane. The final result saw the Utes win by a mere five points.
To me the trip was concluded in perfect fashion when the boys and I did a victory lap whilst taking photos and giving hand shakes and hugs all around. The local crowd in Rockhampton was absolutely unbelievable and although we were the foreign team playing on foreign soil, we still received a very great reception.
But in saying all of that, the Utes are now in Salt Lake City with the academic season looming. I feel that the trip overall was a great success and the team is now closer as a group and taking the right steps towards improvement. I am personally looking forward to the upcoming season and what it has to offer.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the games this season in Utah colors.
GO UTES!
