SALT LAKE CITY -- The University of Utah men's basketball team took the opportunity to spend some time with visitors to the 2007 University Health Care Kids' Fair, held on campus Sept. 8. The event was held outside the University Neuropsychiatric Institute.
The entire team posed for a picture with Curious George at the University Health Care Kids' Fair. |
"This was a great opportunity for us to get involved in the community," Utah head coach Jim Boylen said. "It was for a great cause and our players had a good time. We look forward to doing more things like this, because it is important to us to be active in the community."
Many of the children and parents in attendance were appreciative of the team's involvement.
"It is great to see the Utes basketball team playing with the kids and fans -- they are great role models," said one parent.
Coach Boylen, his wife Christine and daughter Ashlen Clare enjoyed meeting Curious George at the University Health Care Kids' Fair. |
Even non-Ute fans were impressed.
"Jim Boylen might might even convince me to become a Ute Fan," said BYU alum Dennis Moss.
Mary Talboys of the University Neuropsychiatric Institute said the team helped make the Kids' Fair a success.
"The Team and Coach Boylen were one of the hits of the Fair," Talboys said. "They ranked right up there with Curious George, Air Med and Sundance the dancing horse."
