SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team will be competing Thursday through Saturday in Provo to face three conference opponents. The Utes will take on No. 34 TCU on Thursday, UNLV on Friday, and will end things on Saturday with a match against instate rivals. All matches will be hosted at BYU's outdoor facility with matches starting at 1:30 p.m. MST daily.
THE UTES
The University of Utah men's tennis team is currently 10-9 for the season and is tied in conference play 2-2.
The Utes were on the road last week as they faced No. 51 New Mexico, No. 54 San Diego State, and Air Force. The Lobos slid by with a 4-3 win over Utah, but the Utes came through on the following day against the Aztecs. Utah overpowered San Diego State for a 5-2 win to break the Aztec's conference winning streak.
The Utes finished up the weekend with a 7-0 sweep over Air Force. Zach Ganger led the Utes at the top spot in singles, and joined Miron Mann in doubles play at the No. 1 spot.
Mann faced New Mexico's Max Jones on April 4 at the No. 2 spot in singles play. Jones, whom usually plays at the top spot, is currently ranked No. 41 in the country with a 19-11 singles record. Mann battled through three sets to post a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 upset over the Lobo.
"We are looking forward to playing three tough conference matches this weekend," said assistant coach Roeland Brateanu. "It is a great opportunity to play three good teams and to obtain a good seed for the conference tournament."
THE HORNED FROGS
TCU is currently ranked No. 34 in the country by the ITA. The Horned Frogs have tallied a 16-5 winning record and are undefeated in conference play. Last week they swept Air Force 7-0, and defeated BYU 6-1 and UNLV 5-2.

UNLV is not currently ranked by the ITA, but has a 9-9 season record and have tallied a 1-2 conference record so far. In the last conference matches, the team defeated BYU 4-3 and Air Force 7-0 before falling to No. 34 TCU 5-2.
Last week, the Rebels defeated No. 70 UC Irvine 5-2.
