SALT LAKE CITY - The Utes play their second conference series of the year against No. 14 TCU, March 20-22, at Franklin Covey Field. The first game begins at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20. Live stats and audio for all three games are available at www.UtahUtes.com.
"We need to bounce back after subpar performances in the last two games," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "Things just haven't clicked. We have to be ready to play this weekend."
The Horned Frogs are ranked in each of the four major polls with a high ranking of No. 14 by Collegiate Baseball. The reigning MWC Champions and four were named to the preseason All-MWC team - second baseman Ben Carruthers, third baseman Matt Carpenter, outfielder Chris Ellington and pitcher Tyler Lockwood.
"They are highly ranked from all accounts and have one of the more complete teams," Kinneberg said. "They have a good pitching staff and their offense could be very dangerous.
"We see Tyler Lockwood on Friday. He is one of the better guys that we faced last year. The team is good - they are smart, have good athletes and play the game correctly."
