SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah men's basketball coach Jim Boylen has granted the release of sophomore Morgan Grim. Grim requested his release from the team yesterday and plans to transfer to another institution.
"We would like to thank Morgan for his work and contribution to this program," said Boylen. "He will leave in good standing as a student-athlete and we wish him luck in the next stage of his collegiate career."
A native of Riverton, Utah, the 6-8, 220-pound forward played two years for the Runnin' Utes. He averaged 0.8 points and 0.9 rebounds, and blocked 14 shots in 42 appearances.
"I am very thankful for my time at Utah," said Grim. "However I believe it is in my best interest to continue my career at another institution. I appreciate the chance to be a Ute but I think it is time to explore other opportunities."
