TEMPE, ARIZ. - The University of Utah track and field team competed in the Arizona State Sun Devil Classic Friday evening in the hammer event. Sarah Grimm and Josefin Berg have continued to solidify their competitive edge, earning third and fourth-place, respectively, while setting regional qualifying marks.
Last time in Tempe, Grimm had a regional qualifying mark of 183'3", but in this go around, the Ute ousted that mark with a toss of 187'7", which earned third-place overall in the competition. Her mark ranks fourth on Utah's all-time outdoor performance list. Berg also had a regional qualifying mark with a toss of 184'11" for a fourth-place finish.
Utah throwers are still competing at Mesa Community College. Please check back for results.
The Utes will continue competition in the Sun Devil Classic on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. PT. The Weber State Wildcat Invitational will begin at 10:00 a.m. MT.
